Purvi has been studying the discipline of dance since early childhood.  She learned Bharatnatyam under the knowledge and guidance of a well known guru/teacher.

Purvi is well rehearsed in many different dance forms, such as classical, filmy, and folk dances of India: Garba, Bhangra, Rajasthani, just to name a few.

Purvi Lad has a Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from Rutgers University of New Jersey and is currently approaching her second degree in the Arts at Kean University for Interior Design.

She has won numerous dance competitions such as Naya Andaaz, and FIA; as well as participated in shows as glamorous as Miss India World, the Festival of India at Middlesex, the India Day Parade in New York, and the Annual Forum for the Consulate Generals and Diplomats of the World.

Through dance, Purvi has also made acquaintance with well known stars like Meenakshi Sheshadri, Mahima Chaudhry, Sunny Deol and many more.  Purvi has also appeared on national television.

Having the talent to mesmerize her audiences, Purvi began teaching and directing dance at the Sargam Dance Academy.  With her choreography and direction, Sargam’s dance groups have performed all types of dance at large corporate events, pageants, weddings, sangeets/garbas, and many other special events.  With over 30 students, Purvi is able to customize her choreographies to satisfy the needs and desires of Sargam’s clients.  Using choreography and costumes, Purvi aims to enhance the beauty of the dances and your special event.
