The bride & groom exchange garlands of fresh flowers acknowledge their life long
bondage in front of all the guests, family and friends. The bride & groom are
then escorted to the Mandap (alter) by their parents.

THE
WEDDING CEREMONY (Vivah, Shadi)
The bride and bridegroom are seated
in front of a holy fire (Havan Kund). A Hindu religion believes that fire is a
sustainer of life. Pundit conducts the wedding, performs havan offerings,
recites various religious sayings and explains bride & groom their duties/
responsibilities in their married life. The couple walks around the fire four
times or seven times- exchanging vows. <<

The bride’s parents entrust their

After the wedding is over it is a sad but very joyful occasion.
